PALM BEACH, FL – The program continues to expand for the fast-approaching Palm Beach Cavallino Classic 2026, taking place February 13–15. The Palm Beach Cavallino Classic will be celebrating their 35th Anniversary of showcasing Ferrari cars. This year’s edition will once again showcase beauty and prestige, featuring Friday’s Tour d’Elegance and Party Under the Stars, Saturday’s Concorso d’Eleganza – the beating heart of the event – followed by the Cavallino Night, and, to close, Classic & Sports Sunday, traditionally held at the Mar-a-Lago Club.

35 Years of Love for Ferrari: marking 35 years in Cavallino Classic history, the 2026 edition will introduce major new highlights. First, the event will be hosted at The Boca Raton, one of America’s most iconic luxury resorts and private clubs—an ideal backdrop to elevate the Cavallino Classic experience even further. Another first for the 35th anniversary is the Cavallino Auction by RM Sotheby’s: the renowned auction house will present an exceptional selection of Ferrari models as part of the Cavallino Classic, reflecting the caliber of collections represented by Concours participants.

Adding to the excitement of the 2026 edition are several headline initiatives showcasing Ferrari’s striking current models. The first is the 849 Testarossa: the latest Ferrari which will be unveiled as part of its exclusive North American premiere at the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic during the prestigious Party Under the Stars at The Boca Raton on Friday evening, February 13. Ferrari’s entire lineup will be on display—starring the Ferrari Amalfi that will be on the road for its first dynamic drives in the U.S. as well as the Ferrari Purosangue, the first ever four-door, four-seater that encapsulates the pure spirit of the brand.

A brand new One-Off will be in attendance making its debut at Casa Ferrari during the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic, further building excitement around The Boca Raton throughout the weekend.

Finally, a special area will be devoted to Ferrari Classiche as well as The Ferrari Foundation highlighting the stunning Tailor Made 812 Competizione and SP3 ‘599+1’ previously auctioned to benefit the brand’s educational initiatives.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has been know for hosting first-ever or once-in-a-lifetime gatherings of cars and pairing the world’s greatest designers with their creations. Now, as the event approaches its 75th celebration on August 16, 2026, it plans to revisit some of these iconic gatherings while hosting a wide range of features and new classes.

Ferrari, which has a long history at Pebble Beach, will be the primary featured marque on this occasion, with a special focus on overall Le Mans winners and NART competition cars, and Vignale will be the featured coachbuilder. New offerings include special classes for Early American Speedsters, Classic Streamliners, and Japanese Motorsports.

Additional special classes will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

2026 Pebble Beach Concours Features Include:

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Ferrari – A Ferrari first appeared at Pebble Beach in 1951: Gentleman Jim Kimberly, heir to the Kimberly-Clark Kleenex fortune, showed his 1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta at the Concours and went on to compete in the Road Races. While in third place on lap 20 of the feature race, he skidded on oil and flipped the car— but he emerged unharmed and received a kiss for his efforts from his date, movie star Ginger Rogers. In the intervening years, over 900 Ferraris have appeared at the concours. Ferrari became the first ongoing postwar featured marque at the Concours beginning in 1973, and the concours often hosts two or three Ferrari classes. On this occasion, they will be showcasing Ferrari’s overall Le Mans winners, NART competition cars, and Vignale-bodied road cars.

Carrozzeria Alfredo Vignale – Born in 1913 as the fourth of seven children, Alfredo Vignale first found work as a panel beater at the age of eleven. After having worked with Pinin Farina and later Stabilimenti Farina, he started his own carrozzeria in 1948. The defining moment came in 1950 when Vignale began his famous cooperation with another Stabilimenti alum, Giovanni Michelotti, a multi-talented and prolific sports car designer who could create distinctive and beautiful styles at the drop of a hat. Giovanni designed the cars, and Alfredo built them. What followed would secure their enduring legacy: a seemingly unending stream of Ferrari, Lancia, FIAT 8V, Maserati, and many other Italian chassis that received their golden touch. Today, these rare cars are regarded as a quintessential distillation of exquisite Italian metal shaping. They are the coachbuilt embodiment of 1950s la dolce vita: sleek, smart and breathtaking.

Early American Speedsters (Pre-World War I) – In the tumultuous years leading up to World War I, a handful of American automakers offered exciting models that stirred the souls of early sporting motorists. The Speedster was an exciting, fast, bare-bones iteration of the newly emerging horseless carriage. Minimalist in guise, speedsters generally featured a powerful engine, a rudimentary hood, lightweight fenders, two bucket seats, a cylindrical fuel tank, and a pair of spare tires. Except for their vestigial fenders, they resembled road and track racers of the era, like the Indy 500-winning Marmon Wasp. Although more than a century has passed, evocative names like Stutz Bearcat and Mercer Raceabout still resonate with car enthusiasts. The class will display several of the best-known American Speedsters along with several little-known but exciting competitors.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

The Birth of the Streamliner – The latter half of the 1930s was a time of unrest and upheaval in automotive design—yet one of great creativity and originality as the new science of aerodynamics rose to the fore and the old upright and angular three-box car designs were forced to bite the dust. Some experimented with genuine windswept teardrop forms tested in early wind tunnels. Others were caught up in the spirit of the age and its catchword: streamlining. Late 1930s consumers could purchase streamlined toasters, refrigerators, pencil sharpeners . . . and cars. As the design studios of car manufacturers and coachbuilders experimented with these new and fascinating shapes, these “streamliners,” they created astonishing automobiles that remain some of the most extravagant and breathtaking machines ever conceived. With their flowing fenders, sloping grilles and fastback rear ends, the streamliners were a short-lived ode to a Flash Gordon future where the sky quite literally was the limit. The 2026 Concours will mark a timely celebration of that.

Pebble Beach Road Racing Greats – Amidst its 75th celebration, the 2026 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will pay tribute to its historic roots in road racing. The first Pebble Beach Road Race took place in November 1950, and the first Pebble Beach Concours was held in tandem with it; Concours cars were shown and judged in a field near the tennis courts and then paraded down the start-finish straight of the racecourse. Racing continued in Del Monte Forest through 1956, and a multitude of top racers and constructors took part, including Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Richie Ginther, Bill Pollack and Phil Remington, along with celebrities such as Jackie Cooper. Ultimately the winding, tree-lined course proved too dangerous for increasing speeds, so a purpose-built circuit was carved from a nearby dry lake—“Laguna Seca.” Our celebration will showcase the evolution of sporting cars that raced in the forest in the early 1950s, pairing top models from auto manufacturers with some of the most iconic one-off specials.

Japanese Motorsports: The Rising Sun at Le Mans – Le Mans has long been considered the most challenging endurance contest. Marques like Bentley, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche have all enhanced their reputations with impressive victories there. Understandably, Japanese automakers were eager to show that their cars could compete in that grueling international endurance race. Toyota, Mazda and Nissan entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1990s. Mazda convincingly won the Sarthe Classic in 1991 with the unconventional Mazda 787B Rotary. Not to be outdone, Toyota won Le Mans five years in a row, from 2018 to 2022, fielding a convincing variety of Hybrid racing car configurations. And in 1990, when a Nissan won the pole position, it qualified six seconds faster than the nearest Porsche! Nissan continued to battle Jaguar and Porsche that year until mechanical issues sidelined the Japanese entry. More recently, Honda ran cars at Le Mans from 1994 to 2006, winning the GT2 Class in 1995. We’ll present a fine array of Le Mans cars from a selection of Japanese manufacturers.

RM Sotheby’s – The once-in-a-generation chance to own the sole factory-owned Series I GTO has concluded. RM Sotheby’s has written the latest chapter of the greatest most-singular Ferrari example, selling for $51.7 million on November 13, 2023 at Sotheby’s New York during its Marquee Week Sales of Modern and Contemporary Art.

“Celebrating this sale during Sotheby’s marquee week highlights the unparalleled stature of this Ferrari as one of the world’s most desirable objects. The result, achieved through collaboration between Ferrari, RM Sotheby’s, and Sotheby’s, echoes our mutual pursuit of perfection—mirroring the very ethos Enzo Ferrari embodied when designing this car. Fetching $51.7 million, this transaction adds a new chapter to a vehicle with an unmatched legacy. Now, it ranks among the most expensive cars sold at auction, a true testament to its singular place in history.” – Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions

The only GTO Tipo 1962 raced by Scuderia Ferrari; this example boasts an impressive and perhaps legendary history. Its racing pedigree alone includes clinching a class win and a 2nd overall finish at the 1962 Nürburgring 1000 KM. It was piloted by Mike Parkes and Lorenzo Bandini for Scuderia Ferrari at the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans, and also secured the position of runner-up in the 1965 Sicilian Hillclimb Championship. Previously owned by a chairman of the Ferrari Club of America, it won an FCA Platinum Award and the Coppa Bella Macchina at the Cavallino Classic, placed 2nd in the GTO class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and received a Best of Show at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.

Dubbed an extraordinary opportunity to acquire the Holy Grail of the sports car pantheon, the acquisition of this important piece of motoring history allows its next caretaker immense opportunity for further touring and vintage racing enjoyment or display at major concours d’elegance and marque gatherings worldwide.

Some artists get a s-l-o-w start, explains Wallace Wyss (rhymes with “Reese”) Back in 1962 he enrolled in art classes at Wayne State in Detroit but when an ad agency hired interns a year later he snapped up a job as copywriter.

Flash forward several decades, Wyss is taking his 16th car book to the Beverly Hills car show so he decides to make a painting of Shelby, featured in the book (a previous one on Shelby sold 50,000 copies) . At the show, he sold the book and showed the buyer a picture of the painting. The buyer said “Go get it–you sold that too.”

But it took years of experimenting with paint (he decided on acrylics) and a style (still painting on various styles of paper before he begins to make a final painting of a car).

A one-time member of the Ferrari Owners Club (he bought a ratty Ferrari from a movie producer) he specializes in Italian cars.

Wyss’ love of Ferraris is quite evident in his work.

Bizzarrini, a little known flash in the pan, is his favorite– because he first glimpsed one in 1968 in Detroit and coincidentally is going to make another portrait of it more than a half century later.

Still a photojournalist, he annually treks to Monterey for Car Week where he has a booth with his wife Angelita, selling his books (now all out of print) and his paper prints and giclee canvases.

Since some of the shows he attends as a journalist have prewar cars, an offshoot subject is art deco, or streamline moderne, cars, “That was my second oil sale,” he recalls, “–a Delahaye–for the owner of the Mullin Museum, a museum devoted entirely to prewar French cars… He has an offshoot category of those cars.”

He used to shoot pictures at racing events like the Monterey Historics but schlepping cameras and long lenses around became too much, now he just goes to car events with two or three point-and-shoot cameras, trying to remember to crouch so the cars don’t look too high from his 6-foot frame.

His method of approaching a painting is to carefully enlarge his favorite picture from each event up to 11″ x 17″ and use carbon paper to transfer the skeletal outline to the painting surface. Then once he does a rough, he prints it on one kind of paper, then corrects it, prints it on another type of paper, taking sometimes five or six runs. All the paper is from Kelly and his favorite is “linen” which actually looks like linen cloth. Then if he has a paper print he really likes is selected for a giclee print, gallery wrapped (canvas wrapped around the wood frame). His favorite giclee size is 20″ x 30″ but he can be persuaded to go larger. He then embellishes. “To some artists an embellishment is a dab here or there–with me it’s painting the whole picture again atop the print.”

Only on the cases of commissions is he persuaded to change the background. “One guy with a Jag XK120 wanted Wimbledon stadium in the background because his daughter competed there,” he said “then there’s been requests for castles and mountains.”

Though he seldom has people in his work he’s trying to wean away from static cars-on-a-lawn narratives. “Cars are about people,” he says. He plans to include more people in his compositions in the future.

The car show route has become stagnant for him lately, but in August 2022, he came upon a stroke of luck after consigning two giclees of Ferraris to Mecum at Monterey as road art. “I had thought road art was gasoline globes, or kiddies pedal cars. And I thought their audience was muscle cars compared to tonier operations like RM Sothebys or Gooding. But they accepted them and the day I delivered my work, I saw they had Ferraris and Lamborghinis too,”

His Ferrari engine portrait sold for $900 and his portrait of a ’60s Ferrari race car for over $1000. “I was blown away–who would have thought there were Ferrari fans at the Mecum?” He consigned them at no reserve. “It was nail biting because a bidder could buy it at one dollar,” but I’m glad I took the chance.”

From the prewar era of revered classic cars comes The Greg Dawson Marmon Sixteen Collection, led by a multiple award-winning 1931 Marmon Sixteen Convertible Coupe that is the product of an eight-year restoration by Bill Godisak’s Sun Ray Restorations. Other award-winning Sun Ray-restored Marmons in the collection include a 1931 Marmon Sixteen Convertible Sedan, one of approximately 10 remaining, a 1931 Marmon Sixteen Limousine believed to be the only remaining example with roll-down privacy glass division, and one of the approximately five remaining Marmon Sixteen Victoria Coupes: a 1932 model.

A look at the 1955 Ferrari 410 Sport Spider by Scaglietti

One of the most significant purpose-built Ferrari “big block” sports‑racing prototypes from the 1950s

One of just two factory-campaigned 410 Sports equipped with a 24‑spark plug 4.9‑liter V‑12

Scuderia Ferrari team car driven by Juan Manuel Fangio at the 1956 1000 KM Buenos Aires

Piloted by Carroll Shelby during his landmark 1956 and 1957 seasons when driving for the renowned Southern California‑based team principal John Edgar

Carroll Shelby won more races as a driver in 0598 CM than any other car in his racing career, with 8 wins and 10 podium finishes

Also raced in-period by legendary drivers Phil Hill, Eugenio Castellotti, Masten Gregory, Richie Ginther, Joakim Bonnier, Bruce Kessler, Jim Rathmann, and Chuck Daigh

Among the most successful of all even-numbered sports‑racing Ferraris, entering nearly 40 races in-period with 11 victories and 19 total podium finishes from 1956–1958

Remains a highly original example retaining the matching-numbers engine, chassis, and body

One of a select few Ferrari models with coachwork both designed and built by Sergio Scaglietti

Fitted with original fuel tank inscribed by Shelby, “Mr. Ferrari told me that this was the best Ferrari he ever built.”

Accompanied by the first (1956) and last (1958) trophies won by Shelby driving 0598 CM, along with the original 1957 Nassau racing license plate

McPHERSON, KANSAS (May 9, 2022) – In a surprise ceremony last Friday, McPherson College received and unveiled a classic 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a two-seat grand tourer, a gift from Dr. Richard Lundquist, LHD. A longtime supporter of the college’s auto restoration program, Lundquist’s gift marks the first Ferrari the college has ever received.

“I’m pleased to hand over the keys to one of my most prized possessions to the wonderful students and faculty at McPherson College,” said Lundquist. “It’s my hope that the car provides enhanced learning opportunities and can be restored by the students and eventually compete in prestigious events.”

For 46 years, McPherson College has been the only college in America developing the next generation of automotive restorers, with graduates securing positions with some of the top car collectors, museums, and restoration companies in the world. The program’s students study and work on historic cars, including a 1927 Ford Model A, a 1936 V-12 Lincoln Convertible Sedan, and a 1956 Austin Healey 100M, and are able to learn how to properly work on and restore cars that carry a deep history. And, while they have worked on many unique and storied vehicles, the Ferrari stands alone in its prestige and history.

“The magnitude of this gift is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for not only our automotive restoration students but the entire McPherson community,” said McPherson College President Michael Schneider. “This is one of the most impactful educational tools and gifts that McPherson College has ever received. We cannot thank Richard enough for this gift and his continued friendship and support of the college.”

The 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 is one of the last models manufactured by Ferrari before company founder and namesake Enzo Ferrari sold the company to Fiat. The two-seat grand tourer, designed by Pininfarina and built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, was ranked number two in Motor Trend’s “Greatest Ferraris of All Time.”

“This car is old-school. It’s largely handmade at a time when this just wasn’t done, and with its engine in the front, the 365 GTB/4 ran counter to the latest trend of putting the engine behind the driver,” Ed Barr, professor of technology at McPherson College, said. “Enzo Ferrari’s willingness to disregard the latest fad and embrace craftsmanship in pursuit of excellence are sentiments our students will appreciate. The hands-on study of this car will allow our students to retrace the steps and learn the methods of the craftspeople who built it the first time.”

After the unveiling, students were able to come to the stage to examine the car up close and talk with Lundquist about the vehicle’s story and journey to McPherson College.

“It gave me a broad smile to see the students engaging with the car up close in a way that could never happen if it was cordoned off in a museum,” said Lundquist.

During a ceremony earlier Friday, McPherson also officially dedicated, cut the ribbon, and formally opened the Paul Russell and Company Center for Automotive Research, made possible through a generous gift from Melanie and Richard Lundquist. Last year, McPherson College announced that Florida philanthropist and automotive enthusiast, Dano Davis, gave $1 million in a matching gift towards the college’s $20 million goal.

In March 2021, McPherson College conferred honorary doctorates on Richard and his wife, Melanie, to recognize the couple’s significant body of work in driving systemic change in K-12 public education, health care delivery, and innovation, as well as the environment. The Doctor of Humane Letters (LHD) degrees were awarded by McPherson College’s Board of Trustees and faculty, who voted unanimously to recognize the Lundquists with the honorary degrees.
